About THE ONE I'D BUY.

I don't want 17 recommendations. I want someone who knows the category to tell me what they'd buy.
ONE ANSWER IS BETTER THAN FOURTEEN TABS.This site is built around a simple idea: spend money where you can actually tell the difference. Save it where you can't. Don't buy junk twice.

How I think about gear

I love good stuff. I just don't think expensive and good are synonyms.

Sometimes the expensive one is absolutely worth it. A tool you use constantly can be nicer to hold, faster, more durable or simply more enjoyable every single day. That's real value. Other times the cheaper product is 90% as good and the smart move is keeping the money.

And sometimes there is a ridiculous tool you did not know existed until you own one and wonder how you lived without it. I have a stainless-steel cannon for shooting ground meat into a smoker. This site has room for that too.

What this isn't

This isn't a database of every product available. It isn't a 27-item roundup designed to make you open more tabs. And I'm not going to call seven different things "the best" because they each win a made-up category.

The point is judgment: what I would actually buy, why, and where I would save my own money. I may give you a splurge and a save when both answers are genuinely good. But I'm still going to tell you which one I'd choose.

That's the whole idea behind the name.
